Short Bio

Frank Heckel was born in 1981 in Zwickau, Germany. He has received the diploma in applied computer science in 2007 from the Chemnitz University of Technology, Germany. His diploma thesis was about real-time crowd simulation in three-dimensional virtual environments.

Frank Heckel joined Fraunhofer MEVIS, Institute for Medical Image Computing, Bremen, Germany, as a research scientist in 2007, where he is working in the field of oncological therapy monitoring. His main reseach interests are interactive segmentation of 3D medical images and object reconstruction.
