GNCG-SPECT reconstruction matrices

This page features some short image sequences related to my dissertation Simultaneous Activity and Attenuation Reconstruction in Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography, a Nonlinear Ill-Posed Problem.
This page is still under developement.

The sequences show naive Gauss-Newton CG reconstructions without any regularization of a thorax phantom for activity f and attenuation mu.

The reconstruction was atemped starting from perfect data. The nessecity to enforce some smoothness of the reconstructions and to include a penalty on attenuation updates outside the body cross section is clearly visible.
